Hostel Review: Oasis Backpackers, Seville, Spain

Headed to Seville and looking for a safe, conveniently located, and affordable place to stay?

Look no further! We got you. With great prices, friendly staff, and ample opportunities to meet fellow travelers, the BEST place to stay in Seville is the Oasis Backpackers and Coworking Hostel located at Calle Compañía, 1, 41004 Seville, Spain.

We got so lucky with our first true hostel experience while traveling together by staying at the Oasis Backpackers and having an incredible experience.

First things first, be aware that there are actually two Oasis hostels in Seville, the one we stayed at, Oasis Compania Street, and the Oasis Palace.

The main differences between the two is that Oasis Compania has coworking spaces, a smaller space, and a slightly older crowd, (i.e. not college students). The Palace is the party hostel and known for its famous pub crawls and lively happy hours.

We knew we wanted a space to get some work done while we were there and this location had nice tables and plenty of outlets both inside and on the rooftop!

Our ratings at a glance:

  • Overall: 9.3/10

  • Security: 8.8/10

  • Location: 9.9/10

  • Amenities: 8.9/10

  • Cleanliness: 9.6/10

  • Noise levels: 8.8/10

  • Staff: 9.5/10

  • Vibes: 9.8/10

So, why are our scores so generous?

Overall, Oasis Backpackers and Coworking was immaculate in cleanliness, centrally located, had a beautiful view from the rooftop, and the pool/bar area was a TOTAL hit. It really created a space for people to hang out, meet one another, and create some fun memories. We met all of our new friends while hanging out outside on the rooftop and the weather stuck it out for us the entire trip which was another perk. We even ended up all spontaneously attending a concert together!

This was our first time staying in a shared bunk room and we had a very good experience. We were in an 8 bed mixed dormitory with an ensuite bathroom which was cleaned at least 2x a day, (seriously, there was always TP and no stray hairs on the floor!)

Checking-in: A quick and easy process. If you arrive during the day the front desk manager will scan your passport and enable your electronic key via Staymyway app available on iOS and Android.

We arrived quite late and were able to do electronic check in via the app with no issues. You can only access the building and your assigned room via bluetooth in the Staymyway app which gave us, and solo travellers peace of mind.

There is a shared kitchen/fridge area where there is ample space to store personal food items and cook a meal at the hostel, which again, has plenty of dishes and utensils to cook and eat with.

Hostel kitchen area (there are two long tables slightly pictured where you can work, eat, or play games at!) Also, plenty of outlets.

There is a private conference room if you need to take a personal call and long tables with comfy chairs and outlets on the ground floor for working.

One of Carolines favorite amenities at the hostel was the reliably cold, filtered water fountain on the ground floor.

We both really loved the internal courtyard “open skylight” concept of the hostel. Above you can see how natural light from the rooftop shined through during the day. The hostel decorations were simple and nicely done with lots of plants and hand paintings which was a thoughtful touch!

The Oasis Backpackers and Coworking hostel is a great place to stay if you’re a remote worker, looking to spend extended time abroad, or are looking to easily make new friends.

Another huge plus for the hostel that got points from us is an elevator to all floors and the roof, showing that they prioritize accessibility to all travelers.

Each afternoon (except Mondays and Tuesdays,) there is happy hour at the rooftop bar from 6-8pm, conveniently located next to the rooftop pool!

The pool is deceptively roomy and a perfect temperature for cooling off after a long day of exploring the city!

The overall hostel vibes including the rooftop area are fantastic for meeting others!

Some other features of the hostel we really appreciated/noticed:

  • Each bed has a personal locker (*Pro tip: always bring your own lock and key)

  • You can store luggage before + after check-out

  • The ensuite bathrooms had communal toiletries

  • There were several cafes/quick lunch/late night food spots & tapas bars within a 3 min walk from the hostel

  • The hostel organizes various city tours and activities from the hostel during the week!

  • As for the noise level - even super late at night the hostel is quiet and we experienced a very respectful atmosphere, even when people were entering the room at all hours

We really do recommend the Oasis Backpackers Hostel on Compania Street in Seville, Spain and can’t wait to be back!
